From New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan comes a chilling take on second chances, where a brutal break-in comes back to haunt the sole survivor with a new threat--and another victim.

Eleven years ago, Cami Cortlandt's mother and sister died cruelly in a violent home invasion. The trauma and notoriety still linger, but Cami has managed to build a life in her hometown despite everything she's lost.

Then one day it all comes rushing back.

A distorted voice on the phone: Would you like a do-over? A disturbing video of a room with bars on the window, trapping a young boy inside who looks achingly, impossibly familiar. Four days to find him.

With the help of Rex Lowe, an old classmate whose past is inextricably tied to her own, Cami races to uncover everything she can about the boy--where he is, who he is, and why she's the only one who can save him.

But as Cami and Rex unravel one clue after another, the past and present converge in an explosion of secrets they never saw coming...and a truth they never could have imagined.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Star Review

This was a chilling and twisty thriller that hooked me with its eerie premise and emotional stakes.

Eleven years after a brutal home invasion took the lives of her mother and sister, Cami Cortlandt has tried to rebuild her life. The trauma never fully left, but she’s learned how to live around it—until a chilling phone call shatters everything. A distorted voice asks a haunting question: “Would you like a do-over?”

Soon after, Cami receives a disturbing video of a young boy locked in a barred room… a boy who looks impossibly familiar.

With only four days to find him, Cami teams up with her old classmate Rex Lowe to follow a trail of clues that forces them to confront the past they thought was buried. As the mystery unfolds, secrets collide and the truth behind the kidnapping becomes more shocking than either of them could have imagined.

This story had a tense, atmospheric feel and kept me guessing as the pieces slowly came together. I especially enjoyed how the past and present intertwined—it added an emotional layer to the suspense. Cami was a strong and determined protagonist, and the race-against-time element made it hard to put down.

While a few moments felt a little predictable, the overall mystery and chilling premise made for a really engaging read.

If you enjoy fast-paced psychological thrillers with dark secrets, emotional stakes, and surprising twists, this one is definitely worth picking up.
