In "Prick," we met Cassie, Taggart, and their group of friends who were trying to cope with the mysterious deaths in their small town of New Haven.

In "Jerk," they are back and are now freshmen at Truman College. Of course, death seems to follow them, and they are caught in the middle of an investigation of the campus suicides.

“Jerk” is a thrilling mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end. The discovery of bodies and secrets, creates an intense atmosphere that will keep you turning the pages, way late into the night.

Taggart and Cassie are well-developed characters with relatable young adult struggles. Their evolving relationship and personal challenges add depth to the story.

DL Hammons skillfully adds twists and turns throughout the story. Every time I thought I figured it out, another surprise awaited me.

If you’re intrigued by mysteries and suspense, “Jerk” is a gripping read that keeps readers hooked from start to finish.

DL Hammons has a knack for storytelling, and his unique voice shines through in his novels.

First off ,I'd like to say how excited I was to read more of Taggart. If you've read the first book in the series, we all got a soft spot for him in the first book. You don't have to read book one to enjoy this but you really should as you'll get a background on the recurring characters and some past storylines. You will also witness how far Taggart has come since we first were introduced to him.

That being said , here we are among Taggart and the gang with multiple deaths taking place among them. As eyes are on Taggart, the group is set out to find the truth not only about the deaths , but about some secrets of the past. The story was so intriguing, plenty of mysteries to keep you engaged. I definitely enjoyed reading more of Taggart and the gang and hope to again soon!

PHENOMENAL!!! Once again, I am absolutely captivated by D.L. Hammons’ creation, particularly the character Taggart. His slightly serious, witty, and dry sense of humor is a true delight. The author excelled in character development, making it easy for readers to visualize each character and become deeply invested in their journeys. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting more!

I highly recommend JERK! It is a great follow-up to PRICK.
