Fast paced short story read that leaves you asking questions of what truly is going on! When trauma meets utter silence what will happen to the main character and is she truly experiencing what's happening? Or is it all part of her healing journey. Great read that kept me reading till I finished and I hope there's more to come from the story.

Y’all… Silent Lucidity proves one thing real quick—silence can be downright terrifying.
Silent Serenity is a therapeutic retreat built around total silence, meant to help people unplug and heal. Sounds peaceful… until Erica checks in. At first the quiet feels calming, but before long the stillness turns heavy, oppressive, and just plain eerie. Strange things start happening, and Erica can’t tell if it’s the therapy working, her trauma resurfacing, or if something at this retreat is seriously off.
Montoya’s writing is tight, fast-paced, and deliciously unsettling. The tension creeps in slowly, like storm clouds rolling across a Southern summer sky, and the build-up toward the finale is so well done. Every little detail stacks up until the ending lands with a satisfying snap-in less than 50 pages.
Short, sharp, and wickedly clever—this one proves silence can be louder than a porch full of gossip after Sunday church. And honestly? I loved every chilling minute of it. 👏📚

“Silent Lucidity” by Brooke Montoya is a gripping Deadly Silent short story that dives deep into trauma and healing while never letting go of the tension. Dark, emotional, and thrilling, this one hooked me fast—I couldn’t put it down.
