I had the absolute honor of being part of Catherine Cowles’ content team for Chasing Shelter—book #5 in the Sparrow Falls series—and it instantly became one of my favorite reads of the year.
This romantic suspense had everything I love: forced proximity, brother’s best friend, electric banter, and two characters who made each other break every single one of their own rules.
Ellie has spent her life keeping her past buried and protecting her independence at all costs, but moving to Sparrow Falls—and ending up next door to Trace Colson—changes everything. Trace is the perfect mix of strong and protective without being overbearing, and impossible not to fall for. Ellie steals your heart with her strength, resilience, and quiet longing for something more.
The banter between them had me smiling, the suspense had me holding my breath, and the emotional moments hit me straight in the heart. And Keely, Trace’s daughter, completely charmed me and added so much warmth to the story.
Catherine Cowles weaves danger, romance, and small-town charm into an unputdownable story that keeps you hooked from the first page to the last. Chasing Shelter is everything I want in a romantic suspense—and is easily a 5-star read.
