The Faster You Break follows the story of Riley Morgen, a former police officer who leaves a toxic police department after eight years of service. Riley moves to the small town of Bearpoint near the Appalachian Mountains, hoping to face her mental health struggles and find herself outside of a badge and uniform. As she begins to make Bearpoint her new home, the discovery of a gold locket throws Riley into the investigation of missing woman, Julia Preston. As Riley probes deeper into the investigation, she begins questioning if she can trust any of the Bearpoint residents. Even as police begin to lose hope, Riley is convinced that Julia is still alive. Her refusal to stop looking sends her mental health spiraling and she soon finds herself the target of a serial killer. As she threatens to unravel, the number of abducted and murdered women grows.
