The Mystery of the Magic: The magician Luce has arrived back in the kingdom of Proster in hopes of getting help to search for where the magic disappeared. He finds that his friend Zebulon is dead and Zebulon’s, Driscoll, currently sits on the throne.
Driscoll is more than happy to help his father's friend and gets a hunting party together. They head off to see what can be found.
Magic vanished from the kingdom long before Driscoll was born. Is it possible that they could find the answers they seek? What dangers are they likely to run into? Will everyone make it back alive?
Lovers & Losses: Rana is duchess and advisor to Hillel, but no one really needs her because Hillel does not listen to women. Her lover left her for his own quest. Now she has decided to leave the court and live in the country for a while.
During the journey she reads a book that her lover suggested for her. Rana finds several parallels to her own life. Maybe the book can provide answers to help her figure out what to do with about her own problems. Or maybe her own pet dragon had the answer to it all.
Hillel’s Glory: With his father gone, Hillel has been crowned King of Proster. There are only two things preventing his life from being perfect; a son and glory.
So, with the announcement of his wife's pregnancy, Hillel started a war. Duke Weldon advised against this move, but Hillel refused to listen. Weldon found himself instead trying to keep Hillel's wife and child safe.
Would Hillel win his glory? Would he keep his kingdom? Or is he going to fail at gaining his perfect life?

When a group is children kidnapped, the whole castle is in an uproar. The demon has kidnapped them all because that is his food source.
Can Waldemar help his friends? Is there a way out of this? Who is this strange white wolf who is trying to help him?

I finished this book fairly swiftly which is both a testament to how well it held me and to its general ease of reading. There is plenty of action here and the ending is fairly satisfying. A few loose things to note though: the pacing is a bit odd; it seems that most of the baddies (save the big one) was disposed of far too easily and the characters made leaps of intuition that had me scratching my head. The characters are decent though and the overall idea was interesting. It's definitely worth giving a read and younger readers giving fantasy a chance will find plenty to like here from action to hints of romance. I would definitely recommend it!
