Say You Swear by Meagan Brandy was a solid read, but it just didn’t completely hit the mark for me. This easily could have been a 4-star book if it weren’t for the length and the amount of buildup before getting to what I felt were the most important parts of Arianna and Noah’s story.
I really enjoyed the characters overall—though I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of Chase. He came across as toxic and seemed to treat Arianna more as a convenience than anything else, which made it hard to root for him in the love triangle dynamic.
That being said, I did love how everything wrapped up in the end, and Noah definitely lived up to his “book boyfriend” reputation. The romance itself was heartfelt, and the emotional payoff was worth sticking around for.
Still, I think the story could have been tighter. There were parts of the plot (and even a few characters) that felt unnecessary, which dragged things out more than needed.
Overall, it was a good book and I’m glad I read it. While it landed at 3 stars for me, I’d definitely pick up more of Meagan Brandy’s books in the future!
