I will say off the bat that I don't think this story was quite for me. So take anything I say now with that firmly in mind as many others did enjoy this books, so it's mostly me.
Pros:
I liked the final showdown (so to speak) and, of course, the main idea of someone trying to figure out who offed them. I'm a suck for a paranormal ghosty story.
I liked the kids, especially Lizzie.
Cons:
Pacing was *weird*. Super slow for like 250 pages, then resolved fast and ended even faster. There was a lot of circular dialog and repetition. Now I get that shock makes people feel like they are spinning in one place, but still.
I saw the whodunnit coming right from the start. I will absolutely not spoil it and normally that doesn't bother me as I read enough mysteries that I often figure it out, but I really wanted to *shake* the main characters because they were being willfully blind for over 200 pages and it was exasperating to read.
