But don't have high expectations about the alien worlds part as there was a lot more about how our Earth has and is changing while the alien worlds are used in a more abstract way to predict if there could have been other civilizations, what path they took, and what that could mean for us as we enter the Anthripocene age. It also looms more at the mathematical probability of there being other civilizations and almost nothing on what they might look like.
If you are looking for an introductory primer on how earth has changed amd the basics of probability for there being other civilizations in space (at any point in the cosmic history, not so much mow), as well as a lot of history on the study of astrobiology, its a good read. But if you want something more complex, cutting edge, and more on exoplanets, this one probably won't do much for you.
