Always a fan of Freida McFadden. I one click her books everytime, without even knowing what the books are about. I do find however that sometimes they can be rather predictable, as I did with The Housemaid's Secret. Now, you won't guess eveything, there were a few times where I thought to myself " nice twist there McFadden"! So despite knowing were the story is going there is plenty of twists that you'll enjoy.
Although not my favorite read of this author , there was enough to keep me reading and enjoying it!

Knowing sort of what to expect going into this one in some ways made me like it more. Book 1 I almost DNF'd near the end of part 1. This one I was ready for the fun twists and turns and it didn't disappoint. Though I nearly hated Wendy too much to even care about her section, thankfully it was short, it's a fine line for me between love to hate characters and ones I simply hate, Wendy was definitely the latter.
My main issue was that it felt a bit dumbed down in places. There were lots of things restated and I felt like we were gettign reminders of things constantly. Yes they were important, but it was like the author didn't trust us to remember what happened last chapter, so at times it was tedious. Most readers are pretty smart, and I appreciate when authors dont pander to the lowest common denominator.
The twists felt well set up and enough information was given throughout to give you that 'Oh, that's why they talked about that!' moments for each one.
I'm not sure if I liked or disliked the fact that it doesn't really draw on book one, everything Millie talks about her past is so vague you can read this as a standalone—which is probably good business sense, but it made it feel a bit disjointed for me.

I loved this. Unbelievable sometimes? Damn yes but that does not make it any less enjoyable. I devour these books and always want more. I'm moving on to book three now and I already wonder what I'm going to do when it's finished.
