Great spicy shifter romance novella, perfect read for a sunny afternoon.
I absolutely love doing arc reads and building my author base and this was just what I needed to get out of a minor reading slump.
The story features a grumpy whale shark shifter/mermaid FMC called Sequana and an equally grumpy bear shifter MMC named Elis. They meet when she saves his life and she stays by his side until she knows he's safe (enough) to leave. Of course he falls first and their instant chemistry is just the right amount of attraction and 'do you trust me?' vibes.
I loved the dark romantasy stalker, kidnapped, touch her and die vibes the story gives off and I thought it was a unique take on 'mermaids' and shifters. I also enjoyed the not so black and white relationship between humans and shifters throughout the book, I think this helped provide some tension and could definitely be delved into further in potential future books.
I will definitely be reading Even Angels Fall and Even Vampires Bleed on KU now I have dipped my toe in the world of E.V Sauvage.
There are some content warnings for this book so please be sure to read them before you go any further. This is also definitely a spicy book so be prepared for it to sizzle.
