James is out to destroy his enemy, Peter Michaels, so when his daughter Wendy arrives in his bar, his plan becomes seduce the girl and use her for revenge. However, a traitor in his midst threatens to ruin everything.
Again, another absolute banger from Emily McIntire. Cannot understand the people giving this series bad reviews. Perfect way to dip your toes into dark romance with content warnings – always read these first, cannot stress this enough as I have seen 1-star reviews given because they didn’t look at these first and then didn’t like the book because the MMC was a nasty man who kills people.
James is the perfect mix of devious and charming. Definitely written like the Killian Jones, Captain Hook character from Once Upon a Time with the darkness of John Wick.
Wendy is a little naïve and a bit too trusting of her father. They way the relationship between James and her develops is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time and I feel this helps to build the tension and darkness of the plot.
Again, great characters, plot and twists you think you’ve got figured out but then suddenly you’re so wrong and like “What the Fuck did I just read?!”.

This book is an adaptation from Peter Pan. I’m definitely going to have to read Peter Pan again. It was so long ago that I don’t remember. What parts were the same. The original version definitely left out the steamy parts.
