⭐⭐⭐ Cozy mystery with charm, but a bit predictable.
This was a cute and easy read that really captured the cozy small-town vibe. Carly Keene is a likable main character—between her photography job, bakery work, and amateur sleuthing, she definitely stays busy. I especially enjoyed the bakery setting and the friendship between Carly and Shell, who brought some fun humor and sass to the story.
The mystery itself was interesting enough to keep me reading, but I did find parts of it somewhat predictable. I was hoping for a few more twists or surprises along the way. The romance element was sweet, though it felt a little rushed at times.
Overall, this is a solid start to a cozy mystery series. It’s a light, relaxing read—perfect if you enjoy small-town settings, friendly characters, and a touch of romance mixed with your mystery. Plus, the included recipes were a fun bonus!
If you’re a cozy mystery fan, it’s worth checking out—just don’t expect anything too intense or groundbreaking.
