A fun, festive thriller. It was a little chaotic at times, but it kept me entertained throughout. I enjoyed the gifts and the twisted instructions from the Xmas Day Butcher in order to find his missing wife. 3.5 stars, rounded up.

Listen. I devoured this book. Absolutely inhaled it. From page one, Spencer Guerrero had me by the throat in the most festive way possible. This would’ve been a fun one to read as an advent — one chapter a day, all cozy and disciplined — but yeah, no. I have the self-control of a toddler in a candy shop, so I destroyed the whole thing in one go.
And honestly? I couldn’t even wait to tell you about it so you can read it before Christmas and join me in my seasonal chaos.
The pace? Fast. Like “don’t blink or you’ll miss a body” fast. The writing? Easy, smooth, addictive. And the whole time I felt like I was that little voice whispering inside Lenny’s head — which is probably a red flag but we’re not discussing my mental health today.
Sure, I figured out where it was going pretty early on, but that didn’t ruin a damn thing. If anything, it made me speed-run through the pages just to confirm my own detective skills. Took me less than two hours. Two hours of pure, messed-up holiday joy.
The psychological game wrapped in Christmas tinsel? Yeah, that did things to me. Got me all hyped like a kid on sugar but with… you know… murder.
