This was a fun venture back to the world of Alex Easton and Gallacia. It was a little slow starting out, but as with the previous book, extremely atmospheric so I was able to forgive it and press on. Once it was clear we were dealing with the ever-creepy Moroi (a folktale I personally love!) things got interesting.
As always I love the depictions of the horses, however sparse they feel spot on and even without many scenes I am further in love with Hob. There is a larger cast of characters this time around with the Widow and her grandson Bors joining Alex, Angus, and Miss Potter. We also get visits from the local priest.
I also really enjoyed the absolute denial Easton was in re the Moroi until ka had no other choice but to believe AND the way the non-believers explained kar incident afterward.
