Heart of Saints (Sinners and Saints)
Summer
I’ve spent most of my life in fight-or-flight mode, doing whatever it takes to survive. But one reckless night with Knox Davenport changes everything. It was the first time I let myself want, the first time I let my guard down.
I had to leave. To protect myself… and my son.
When I came back, Knox was still as cocky, dangerous, and tempting as ever.
For the past fifteen years, we’ve stayed in each other’s lives—distant, cautious, walking a fine line between friendship and something neither of us dares to name. But now Knox is asking questions I can’t answer, dragging me deeper into the past I’ve fought to bury.
I can’t afford to let Knox in—but can I keep pushing him away?
Knox
As Vice President of the Sinners and Saints, people see the rough exterior: the reputation, the women, the easy charm. They don’t see the man underneath, the one who’s spent years searching for something real.
I thought I had something real with Summer Ivers—she was mysterious, quick-witted, impossible to resist. But just as fast as I found her, she was gone. She left town without a word, and when she came back, it was like that night together had never happened.
For fifteen years, I’ve never been able to shake the pull I feel toward her. The more time I spend with Summer—and the son she’s kept a secret from me—the harder it is to hold back.
Now, I’m done pretending. I want answers. I want her.
And this time, I'm not letting her go.

Summer and Knox... Whew!
I gotta say that I was not expecting some parts of the book but this is a solid read, especially if you enjoy second chance stories.
Summer initially moves to a small town after leaving her abusive mother, finding a job and attempting to start a life for herself at 18. She catches the eye of resident bad boy, Knox. They eventually have a one night stand that culminates in the birth of their child. Summer flees the town after witnessing an event and goes through hell as a single mom trying to make her way. The story takes off once Levi (the son) wants to know more about his father.
Summer's past got the best of her at times and she allowed old fears to rule over her which affected her decision-making at times. She becomes a certified baddie as the story really picks up. Knox is a perfect blend of bad boy biker and charming cowboy, throwing himself into the protector role with ease and genuinely wanting a fresh start with Summer and their son. Heart of Saints was good but I kinda expected more growth from Summer.
