Who She Was : A Sylvia Wilcox Mystery

When a suburban housewife is found shot to death in an alley in one of Detroit's roughest neighborhoods. After the rumors and theories evaporate, Sylvia Wilcox, a retired police officer turned private detective, takes on the case. With virtually no leads to follow, Sylvia, along with her brother-in-law Martin, who serves as her assistant, work to recreate the circumstances that led to Liza Stark's murder. Sylvia immediately discovers that the Liza friends and family describe, is much different from the Liza her research reveals. When the PI starts to ask questions about the information she uncovers, Liza's loved ones become uncooperative. The investigation takes Sylvia through elite neighborhoods and gang territory before revealing the inner-workings of a secret organization.
