SpiritBridge: Rift - Book 1
Courage is the sword. Wits are the hand that guide it.
Centuries have passed since the world was shattered by a great war that ended one civilization and created a new one. One of magic.
As a new evil spreads death and fear, the specter of war reemerges, and the fate of the world rests with two mismatched allies: a daring mage thief on a quest for his stolen past, and a secretive bounty hunter pursuing a deadly reward far from her home.
The Rift series is an inspired epic fantasy world of ancient magic, forgotten lands, and monsters born of long-lost sorcerers. Fans of Sanderson, Rothfuss, Hobb, or Weeks, you might have just found your next fantasy addiction here.

This is a fun, brisk paced book that is an interesting blend of fantasy and science fiction. There were some errors in the writing but nothing too distracting.
I liked the characters and the ideas. The ending was a bit detached feeling from the rest of the story though simply because it didn't have a lot to do with the main thrust of the story except as an extra thing that happened to make the main character stronger. I also felt like Billy went out too soon - more could have been done with it.
But all in all a good read!
