I received this book as an ARC, and I’m already ready for book two!

This was such a random pick for me, but I’m really glad I took the chance. The story follows an incubus who is accidentally summoned by a witch to save her sister, in a world where witches are at a serious disadvantage and are looked down on. The storyline did what it needed to do and definitely left me wanting to figure out what happens next.

I LOVED the banter..not just between the main characters, but between the side characters too. And her conversations with household appliances, her shoes, and basically anything else? 😂 I cracked up more than once.

The world-building was really good too. I loved getting to see all the different supernatural elements, although I’m still a little confused about whether the world hates all witches or specifically the Crowes. There were also moments where I felt like the book over-explained certain things, especially when it came to her relationship with Bez, while leaving some of the things I actually wanted explained up for interpretation.

And the ANGST. Whew. 😩 I was definitely ready for them to stop dancing around it and get a little more raw. Maybe book two will finally give me what I’m waiting for. 🤞🏾

As far as spice goes… for a book with Nasty in the title, I was expecting a little more heat. 😂 This was definitely more bell pepper than chili pepper (🫑vs🌶️). There wasn’t much spice, but honestly, the story itself was strong enough that it didn’t ruin the experience for me.

I’m also really curious if book two will be from Bez’s POV because I NEED to know what is going on in that man’s head. 👀

This is my first book by this author, and overall, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more from her. I may even have to check out some of her other books.

Really happy I received this ARC, and now I’m patiently (okay, impatiently) waiting for book two! 😂
