The bigger the twist in thrillers, the better.
I am a pensioner, that is why I review books, and have reviewed many on Netgalley, with a near 100% feedback rate.

This is a gripping novel about how easy it is to get sucked into crime if you are desperate.
Well written, the book flows easily and the characters are well developed. Especially the character of Frank.
He is a family man, loving and caring, and the fact that he cares for people in general shines through. His guilt for what he has done weighs heavily on him.
I am not condoning what he did, he felt like he was backed into a corner and doing the best thing for his family. Until he wasn't.
Once involved, he battles to extricate himself, thinking that it was a one time commitment.
Tense, heartbreaking, slightly dark and suspenseful, I enjoyed the book immensely.
Thank you to Inside Story and Carol Gulliford for the chance to read and review this novel.
4/5 stars from me.

I feel cheated after reading this short story.
I really love a good short story or novella where everything is tied up into a neat reveal at the end.
This could have been a good plot, but unfortunately, there was a lot of padding and repetitivity.
There was no real character development, and Kevin is a shallow person, just appreciating 'eye candy'. He ended up just being a stalker, in my opinion.
I feel cheated because it seems that this is a prequel to a book. There is no great reveal.
However, there was a shocking twist about Kevin, which is interesting. I will have to wait for the first book in the Belladonna Estates series for an answer.
3/5 stars from me.
Could someone please put the book on Goodreads for me to load my review.
She Stole My Baby
Jessica HuntleyUnputdownable.
I started this in the late afternoon and was still reading at midnight.
It is gripping, and twisty.
I didn't like the characters - not at all - apart from their love for the child, they were cold and unfeeling.
Jessica Huntley doesn't disappoint with this book, I have enjoyed most of those that I have read.
However, I would like someone to enlighten me. Poppy is in the supermarket having a Bimble around.
I can't find this in any dictionary.............
I have a good vocabulary, and understand British terms, but honestly have never heard this word.
The writing flows, and it is a quick read - mainly because it is gripping.
What stood out for me, was the fact that our whole lives are online, and we are easy to track down. Poppy was easily found.
What was unbelievable was how many people just 'bumped' into Layla or Poppy, and mistook them for each other. And that happened in two cities. But, yes, it is a novel, and while it didn't detract from the story, it was still unbelievable.
I do recommend this book, it is a riveting read, and I award it 4/5 stars.
