OMG the banter in this book was absolutely top tier and the cliffhanger………hell, that just left me buffering for days!

I loved that this story has a different twist on supernatural/human society that places witches at the bottom of the hierarchy yet humanises their experience due to restrictions placed on them in society for being witches. The first part of this story feels more like starting at a breaking point, with not much history or backstory to contextualise the full struggle of the FMC, but that does not detract from storyline in fact it adds to the mystery and urges you to keep reading.

The FMC, Evie, is so relatable on so many levels that you can’t help feeling every emotion with her and when the MMC, Belzareth, enters the story that just ratchets up the angst even more, especially when it’s packaged in the form of a smoking home demon prince.

This story is definitely multi-layered and I can’t wait to read the next part, it’s like watching your favourite show and waiting for the next reveal in season 2.
