50 Cents of me… Book Review
I had the privilege to read the ARC for Moss and Mirrors…
My honest opinion..
Some books scare you because of monsters, and then there are books that scare you because of people.
Moss and Mirrors by Nicole M. King took me into a very different kind of darkness, wow I had sleepless nights and really sleepless..
Quinn was taken when she was only thirteen and, fifteen years later, finally gets the chance to escape. You would think being rescued would mean she was finally safe.
But what happens when the place you're taken to for safety doesn't feel quite right?
That was one of the things that kept me turning the pages.
The atmosphere in this book is unsettling from the beginning. There is this constant feeling that something is wrong, even when everything is supposed to be helping Quinn heal. The people around her make you question who she can trust, and I found myself watching every interaction a little more closely, and you keep feeling uneasy….
What really got me was the idea of protection becoming control.
When someone tells you they're helping you, but slowly starts taking away your choices, where is the line between being cared for and being owned?
This is definitely not a light, feel-good read. It is dark, psychological and uncomfortable in the best kind of way. This book really makes you think and makes you wonder…
If you enjoy books that get inside your head, make you question characters and leave you wondering who is really telling the truth, Moss and Mirrors is one to add to your TBR.
I enjoyed this book so much, because of the suspense and wondering and sleepless nights…
Nicole M. King definitely knows how to create that feeling of unease where you keep reading because you NEED to know what is really happening.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My rating: definitely a 5 star…
Have you read Moss and Mirrors yet?
