I was a big reader when I was younger, but life happened. Now my own kids are older and I'm a stay-at-home mom/homemaker and am back to reading as much as possible. I read mostly darker romance, paranormal, fantasy, mystery, erotica, and contemporary. I don't have any triggers, and I read it all from MF, MFM, MMF (and all variations), why choose, bully, dark, monster, alien, mafia, sports. I do have ADHD, so I usually have 5-10 books going at once because I read by mood and that's not always a good thing and sometimes it is.

Looking for a slow burn fantasy where there is magic, danger, adventure, and misdirection, then you hit the jackpot.
You have questions along the way, fear of losing and trusting those that come along for the ride. It gives a sense of longing and gratitude as well as family and friend.
For those that know the feeling of wanting to belong but never seem to fit in anywhere, there is always a place for you just sometimes it's in the most unlikely places.
This book allows you travel, learning, finding of yourself and belonging. The world and character build is perfect for this book. The book allows you to follow, admire, and fall in love with the characters. Sometimes not realizing that no matter the situation that it's not always what it seems to be. I think it's great for light fantasy readers as well as YA that enjoy a great adventure with a little love mixed in.

I enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged and I came to really like several of the MC's. This would be an amazing Reverse Harem... Just Saying!! There is betrayal, secrets, love, empathy, humor and found family.
Anyone who remembers that first time away from home, the cruelness of those that think they're better than others, this will resonate with you.
I like how her fear brought her back to the one she now loves and how all the guys in the house care for her and protect her even though they try to use their abilities on her without her knowing. She becomes someone important in their lives, and she takes on a burden that will hopefully save them in the future (we hope).
Everyone in the house seems to have their own dark pasts, secrets, and fears of the future but they also care, love and have each other's back. I think my favorite times of all of them together are at the dining room table. It reminds me of the crazy and fun family dinners we'd have growing up.
I'm excited for the next book to see what more it brings.
