“I really enjoyed this short story. Even in just 60 pages, Desi Stowe delivers characters you instantly love and a plot that pulls you in fast. I love this series, and Heartblock reminded me why — Desi’s characters always feel alive, warm, and easy to root for. A quick read that left me smiling. ”

Lee Stackhouse
“Lee Stackhouse's F L Y is a short story that lingers far after you've finished reading. What begins as a tale of a college dropout's flight home transforms into a relentless psychological horror that had me holding my breath. The premise is simple yet terrifying: Maude finds herself trapped in a mysterious building where silence is mandatory. Make a sound, and you're dead! Stackhouse's prose is hauntingly elegant, creating an atmosphere that was so tense that I caught myself reading more quietly, as if the force might somehow ear me through the pages. The pacing is immaculate. Stackhouse knows exactly when to let tension simmer and when to strike with visceral horror. Suffocating in the best possible way. And that ending, gut-wrenching and shocking. Stackhouse proves that the most terrifying monsters don't always make noise, they stalk it. If you love horror that's equal parts psychological and primal, F L Y is essential reading. Just remember, be quiet!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review This one started off a little slow for me, but once it found its stride I was completely hooked. The unfolding mystery around the twins, their mother’s past, and the chilling manuscript had me turning pages faster than I expected. It’s one of those stories that quietly builds tension until suddenly you realise you’re fully invested. The atmosphere was brilliantly done — eerie, unsettling, and layered with secrets that just keep deepening. The abandoned village, the old manuscript, the family dynamics… everything blended into a gripping, twist-filled plot that kept me guessing right to the end. By the final chapters I was completely absorbed. What began as a slow burn turned into a clever, addictive mystery with characters you can’t help but root for. A fantastic psychological thriller that delivers in all the right ways. Five stars!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review This is a fantastic collection of short stories — perfect for those moments when you only have a few minutes to read. Each piece is quick, engaging, and easy to slip into, with most sitting around the 3–7 minute mark. Despite their length, I genuinely enjoyed every single story. Each one felt complete, purposeful, and well crafted, offering something different while still tying together nicely as a collection. A brilliant set of bite-sized reads that left a big impression. Highly recommended and an easy five stars.”
